The funeral for Louis Richard Humphrey, 91, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Dan O’Daniel will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was born Aug. 3, 1916, in Kremlin, to George Graham and Margie Irene Miller Humphrey and died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007, in Enid.

He was raised and attended school in Kremlin. He served in the Army during World War II from 1942 to 1946. He was assigned to the Combat Engineers, Light Battalion as a rigger 189. His decorations included American Theatre Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, three Bronze Campaign Stars, Victory Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theatre Ribbon and Good Conduct Ribbon. The campaigns he participated in were on the Mandated Islands, Southern Philippines and Marianas Islands. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, where he served as chaplain. He also was a member of Disabled American Veterans and Amerian Legion.

He married Olive A. Dickman Sept. 6, 1955, in Enid. He was a farmer and raised registered polled Herefords for 50 years. He also worked at Enid Livestock Auction.

Surviving are his wife, Olive, of the home; two sons, Dr. Peter W. Christiansen of Miller, Mo., and Richard D. Christiansen of Canon City, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, one brother and four sisters.

Memorials may be made throught the funeral home to Veterans of Foreign Wars.
