Funeral services for Georgie M. Hughes, age 98 of Enid, will be 2 PM Tuesday, October 12, 1999, in the Ladusau-Evans Chapel. Rev. Dean Fleig and Rev. Richard Bentonis will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

She was born January 26, 1901, in McMillian, Oklahoma to John and Lou Alice Lumpkin Maingus and died Saturday afternoon October 9, 1999, in Highland Park Manor Nursing Facility where she was a resident since July 16, 1991.

Georgie attended school in the McMillian area. On September 17, 1918, Georgie married LeRoy Hughes in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in June 1993. They lived in the Enid area since 1945. She will be missed greatly, but we could not be so selfish as to deny her rest.

She is survived by three children, Elden LeRoy Hughes, Mildred Huey, and Ruth Kelley all of Enid; one sister, Martha Linville of Moore, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, 26 great – grandchildren and four great – great – grandchildren.

Georgie was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy Hughes, three children, John Franklin Hughes, Wilmer Leon Hughes, and Utah Charles Hughes; one infant, Marie Louise Hughes; one grandchild and two great – grandchildren.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to the Spaulding Assembly of God or the charity of the donor's choice.
