The funeral for Arlene Hughes, 86, will be in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. James Hull will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

She was born February 5, 1913, in Holley to John Rastus and Goldie Ione Smith Means and died Wednesday, June 30, 1999, at St. Mary's Mercy Hospital.

She attended Fairview high school. In 1931 she married Norman Hughes in Longdale. They made Enid their home for the last 57 years. She was a member of the Westside Baptist Church and Fairview Social Club.

Surviving are two daughters, Alfreda Paris of Cashion and Verla Sprauge of Cookson; two sisters, Opal Nickel of Fairview and Violet Wilson of Enid; one brother, Lloyd Means of Bixley; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the church.
