Mrs. Winifred J. Huggins

The funeral was today at 2 PM in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel for Mrs. Winifred J. Huggins, who died Saturday evening following a lengthy illness. Dr. Lloyd H. Lambert officiated, with burial in Memorial Park.

Born 86 years ago in Topeka, Kansas, Mrs. Huggins was raised in that state and married J. G. Huggins there on October 11, 1911. In 1927, they moved to Enid where Mr. Huggins started and managed the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Huggins died on July 19, 1955. Mrs. Huggins was a member of the Central Christian Church, Women's Bible Class, Social Order of the Beauceant, and a charter member of the Central Garden Club.

She is survived by four daughters – Mrs. Esther Metscher of Enid, Mrs. Virginia Pressnell of Pampa, Texas, Mrs. Katherine McFarline of Kansas City, Missouri, and Mrs. Barbara Carter of Los Altos, California; one son, Jean Huggins of Enid; 15 grandchildren; 19 great – grandchildren; and two great – great – grandchildren.

The family has requested that those who wish, contribute to a memorial fund that has been established at the Central Christian Church in Mrs. Huggins memory. The funeral home and church will act as custodian of this fund.
