The funeral service celebrating and honoring the life of Carl K. Huff, 84, formerly of Enid, is 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2017, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Damond Burpo officiating. Burial follows in the Memorial Park Cemetery of Enid, with full military honors being conducted by the United States Navy.

Carl Keith Huff was born on March 11, 1933, in Hutchinson, Kan., to Wiley and Mary Josephine (Byerley) Huff. He passed from this life on June 2, 2017, at his home in Oklahoma City. He was raised in Enid and attended Enid Schools. After serving in the Oklahoma National Guard, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Following his discharge, he worked for Union Equity for a time. He then worked as a barber at Vance Air Force Base for many years. He retired from Northrop Worldwide Aircraft Services in 1998. He married the former Anna Schlegel on Jan. 3, 1976, in Enid.

He is survived by his wife Anna, of the home, and by three children: son David Wiley Huff and wife Kristie of Bixby, son Terry Wayne Travis of Enid, and daughter Deborah Ann Blakley and husband Patrick of Oklahoma City. He also leaves three grandchildren: Sydney Huff, Alexandria Courtney, and Shawn Blakley and wife Bryoney.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and was founder of the ROMEO Club (Retired Old Men Eating Out), an organization of retired Northrop employees.

Memorials may be made in his name to Disabled American Veterans (DAV), with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.

A graveside service honoring the life of Anna Irene (Schlegel) Huff will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., in Memorial Park Cemetery. Chaplain Gary Miller will officiate. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

On November 11, 1936, Anna was born to William Henry and Gertrude Edith (Bellesfield) Schlegel in Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. Anna passed from this life on June 4, 2020, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Anna was raised and educated in Allentown, later moving to Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas, in 1952 to live with her father. There she met Charles V. (Bud) Travis, son of Eugene and Lucille (Boyle) Travis of Oklahoma. They married on May 2, 1953. Born to their union were daughter Deborah Ann Travis and son Terry Wayne Travis. The family moved to Enid in 1965. Charles died in April 1970.

On January 2, 1976, Anna married Carl K. Huff. Carl was the son of Wiley Z. Huff and Mary J. (Byerley) Huff of Hutchinson, Kansas. The couple moved to Enid and there, one son, David Wiley Huff, was born.

Anna loved God, her family, coffee, and bingo. She also enjoyed garage sales, crafts and conversation. She loved teaching children to play games. She enjoyed baking and was never without something special to serve to visitors to her home.

Anna and Carl were past members of Trinity Baptist Church of Enid. Anna was also a member of the Ladies American Legion.

Anna is survived by daughter Deborah A. Blakley (husband, Patrick E.) of Oklahoma City, sons Terry W. Travis of Enid and David W. Huff, of Bixby, Oklahoma, grandson Shawn P. Blakley (wife, Bryoney) of Oklahoma City and granddaughter Sydney R. Huff of Bixby. She is survived by brothers Robert A. Schlegel of Wichita, Louis W. Grather (wife, Pat) of Pennsylvania and sisters Sandra J. Kien and Carolyn J. Ambrose, also of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by numerous descendants of her siblings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, as well brothers Jimmy B. Schlegel of Wichita and John G. Grather of Pennsylvania, and sister Marilyn E. Davidson of Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Crossroads Hospice or The Lakes Nursing Center with Brown-Cummings serving as custodians of the funds.
