The funeral service for Jimmie Max Hoskins, 79 year-old Enid resident, is 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2017, in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Steve Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jimmie was born April 7, 1938, in Enid to Estil and Louise(Schram) Hoskins, and died Monday, December 18, 2017, in St. Mary's Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. After his schooling, Jimmie worked in the grocery business for a time, and also worked in carpentry with his uncle before beginning a 43-year career at Vance Air Force Base. He worked in all facets of the motor pool and maintenance until his retirement. On November 15, 1943, he married Norma Ging and the couple made their home in Enid. He was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church where he faithfully kept the grounds for several years. He enjoyed attending the races and Enid Motor Speedway, Longdale, and was able to attend the Daytona 500.

He is survived by his son Jimmie, his daughter Jennifer, his granddaughters, Tapanga and Cheyenne Marin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Norma in 2013; one sister Betty Newberry; one brother in childhood; and several nieces, nephew, and cousins.
