The graveside service celebrating and honoring the life of Robert "Bob" R. Hoppe, Sr., 92, of Enid will be held Saturday, 10:00 AM May 30 in the Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Susan Southall of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Masks will be required at the service. He was born July 30, 1927, in Detroit, MI. In 1945 he enlisted in the US Army, serving 6 years, including time in the Korean War, earning a Bronze Star. In 1952 he married Martha Skinner; she died in 1996.

The family moved to Oklahoma in 1966 where he worked at Gold Spot Dairy, and Vance Air Force Base, retiring in 1993 as housing administrator. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

He married Mara Grey in 1998, who survives. Other survivors include Donald (Suzi) Skinner, Bruce (Barb) Hoppe, Teresa (Greg) Meis, Barry Hoppe, 12 grandchildren 17 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren ,Shelly Hoppe, Jeff Suttmiller, and Mara's children Raylene (Gary) Dick, Milton (Beverly) Riggs, Arlen (Lucinda) Riggs, 4 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sibling, Martha, children; Robert R. Hoppe, Jr., William Hoppe, Sherry Suttmiller, one grandchild.

Memorials may be made in his name to UMCOR of the Methodist Church with Brown-Cummings Serving as custodians of the funds.
