The funeral for Betty J. Hopkins, 65, will be 2 PM Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Kenneth Wade will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The casket will be open until service time.

She was born May 30, 1934, in Fairmont to Walter Art and Edna Cohrs Nichus and died Tuesday, July 20, 1999, at Highland Park Manor after a period of ill health.

She attended Fairmont Lutheran School and Garber schools. After graduating from high school she was employed by Champlin Petroleum Company in the accounting wholesale billing department. She also was an Avon representative. On June 9, 1961, she married Jauleel R. Hopkins, Sr. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Surviving are one son, Timothy A. Hopkins of Enid, three stepsons, J. R. Hopkins Jr. of Enid, W. J. Buzz Hopkins of Tulsa and Donald Hopkins of El Reno; one step – daughter, Judith A. Meyer of Kingfisher; one sister, Dolores Nichus; 14 step – grandchildren and eight step – great – grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, three step – grandchildren and one step – great – grandchild.

Memorials may be made through the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Stroke Division or to the Lutheran Hour.
