Funeral services for Mrs. Jesse F. (Ruth E.) Hooley, 77, who died Thursday afternoon in a local hospital of an apparent heart attack, will be at 2 PM Tuesday in the Central Christian Church with Dr. Lloyd H. Lambert and the Rev. Lewis L. Corporon officiating.

Mrs. Hooley will be buried in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hooley was born in Green County near Churdan, Iowa, October 15, 1902, and moved to Enid with her parents while she was a small child.

She was a graduate of Enid high school and Phillips University. She and Jesse F. Hooley were married in Enid July 2, 1928. They celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary July 3, 1978, in Central Christian Church.

Mrs. Hooley taught at Garfield elementary school and at Longfellow and Emerson junior high for a number of years. She was a member of the National Education Association, the Oklahoma Education Association, the Enid Education Association, the American Association of University Women, Kappa Kappa Iota and the National Retired Teachers Association.

Mrs. Hooley was also a member of Central Christian Church and the Pioneer Sunday School Class. A son, Jesse F Hooley Jr., preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband Jesse of the home at 2501 Indian Dr.; two sons, the Rev. Jerald K. Hooley of Wichita, Kansas, and Jon M. Hooley of Edmond; seven grandchildren and three great – grandchildren.

Those who wish may make contributions in memory of Mrs. Hooley to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation Heart Division. Henninger – Allen will serve as custodian of the memorial fund.
