Martha Punkin Hole

Graveside service celebrating the life of Martha “Punkin” Hole, 88, of Enid, Okla., will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Don Tines will officiate under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. She was born Nov. 20, 1925, in Enid to Samuel Grover and Katie Ellen (Durham) Kelsick and passed from this life Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, in Enid, with her family by her side.

She attended Enid schools.

She married Leonard Hole on April 17, 1954, in Enid. She was always a homemaker first, but always worked hard outside of the home as well.

She was a meat wrapper for Safeway for 15 years and also owned and operated Leonard’s Dye Shop, with her husband, for over 15 years.

She was also a pillar of protection for generations of Monroe Elementary School children, serving as the crossing guard for over 16 years.

She is survived by sons, Jack Ramsey and George (Trip) Ramsey; daughters, Faye and husband Norman Koehn, Susan and husband Leon Avants, and Jana and husband Bruce Williams, all of Enid; 22 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret Taylor of Mooreland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Hole; her parents; brother, Samuel Kelsick; sister, Opal Henke; daughter, Joyce Webb; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Condolences may be made in her name to Hospice Circle of Love or Enid ESPCA, with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
