ENID, OK — A service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Van Lee Hodges, 48, of Enid, Okla., will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Willow View United Methodist Church, with Pastor Lesly Broadbent, Rev. David Burris and Rev. Dirk Hodges officiating. Private interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. today, June 13, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Van was born Nov. 8, 1965, in Fowler, Kan., the son of Ronald and Jobyna Walker Hodges and passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014.

Van was a 1984 graduate of Tonkawa High School. He then attended and graduated with a degree in psychology from Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

He was united in marriage to Debbie Gasaway on Aug. 8, 1987, in Alva, Okla.

Van was employed as a teacher at Springtown, Texas, and Chisholm Middle School. He was most recently employed as a conductor for the BNSF Railroad.

Van was a member of Willow View United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed music, playing and coaching sports. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor. His greatest love in life was spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie; one daughter, McKinle; two sons, Kayle and Tanner; his mother, Jobyna Hodges of Tonkawa, Okla.; one sister, Julee Meliza and her husband Sheldon of Woodward, Okla.; and brother, the Rev. Dirk Hodges and wife Lori of Keene, Texas; his mother- and father–in-law, Chuck and Carolyn Gasaway of Alva, Okla.; numerous nieces and nephews; other family members and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald G. Hodges.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to the family for the children’s education with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
