Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Franklyn D. Hickerson, 81, of Enid, Okla., will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Don Tines officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2.

Franklyn was born Sept. 17, 1933, in Lone Wolf, Okla., the son of Orville and Maude Ferguson Hickerson and passed away Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the United States Navy. Franklyn was a sonar operator on the USS Watts.

He was united in marriage to Donna Whiting on March 2, 1954, in Lamont, Okla.

He was employed by Bond Bakery for 13 years, later employed in air-conditioning for Kemph-Munsinger and then later for Luckinbill Inc. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 344 for over 45 years.

Frank enjoyed fishing and working on radios and listening to old country music. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; daughter, Debbie Foster and husband Butch of Enid; sons, Wayne Hickerson and wife Jammie of Stillwater, Okla., and Matt Hickerson and wife Cindy of Tuttle, Okla.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 12 siblings.

Memorial contributions may be made to OMRF, diabetes division, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
