Iola NEHRING HERTH

Funeral service for Iola V. Herth, 95, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Zion Lutheran Church, Fairmont. Rev. Timothy Dorsch will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Iola was born Sept. 14, 1915, in Boyd, Minn., to August and Margie (Rabe) Nehring.

In 1928 she came with her parents to Enid, Okla., and died Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Greenbrier Nursing Home.

She attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School, Longfellow Jr. High and Enid High School. She worked for Rochester Handkerchief Factory and Ormsbee Enid Factory and later at Fairmont Post Office for over 10 years. She worked part-time at Garfield County Election Board in Fairmont, retiring in 2009.

On May 10, 1936, she married Herman Herth in Lahoma, Okla. They farmed in Lahoma, Perry and Fairmont and in 1955 moved to their present address.

Iola is survived by two sons, Dondevere (Don)and wife Betty of Enid and Martin (Marty) and wife Gail of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren, Terry and wife Lorie, Kristy and husband Scott Pendleton of Enid, Donolyn and fiancé Tom Merchant of Choctaw, Nicole and husband Phil Schumaker, Dustin and fiancé Calley McGehee of Oklahoma City; six great-grandchildren, Eric Walton of Midwest City, Shane and Lexie Pendleton and Jacob Herth of Enid, Nora and Abigail Schumaker of Oklahoma City; two great-great-grandchildren, Zoe and Sadie Walton of Midwest City; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and five brothers and six sisters. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Ross Hospice.
