Funeral service for Wilma "Irene" Henry will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Troutman and Everett Ohls officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials May be given to Lovington Good Samaritan Care Center with the funeral home acting as custodian of the funds.

Irene was born Jan. 12, 1913, to Ren and Alice DeVault Buchanan in Enid, Okla., and passed away Friday, Dec. 26 at Lovington Good Samaritan Care Center, Lovington, N.M.

She had been a longtime Enid resident until 1999 when failing health forced her to move to Lovington. Irene married Hank Henry Dec. 16, 1940, and raised a son and two daughters. Both Hank and Irene retired from Luckinbill Mechanical Contractors in 1975. Irene is remembered as a wonderful homemaker, gifted seamstress, avid gardener, loyal member of Calvary Baptist Church, and beloved mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; two brothers, Lester Buchanan and Lloyd "Studie" Buchanan; two sisters, Lettie Mize, and Mable Weber; and a son, Bert Weber.

Irene is survived by two daughters, Wilma Kuhlemeier, Temple, Texas, and Juanita Burgin, Wichita, Kan.; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and two brothers, Kenneth Buchanan, Enid, and Carl Buchanan, Oklahoma City.
