Bert E. Hennis, 81, a long – time resident of Alfalfa and Garfield counties, died Saturday morning in the Perry Hospital.

He had been in ill health for the last six months and had been confined to the hospital for the past eight days.

Born May 5, 1899, at Carrier, he had lived in Oklahoma all of his life.

He was a farmer near Carrier, retiring 15 years ago at which time he moved to Perry.

He married Ellamay Kelly on June 4, 1968 in Perry.

During his retirement, he restored antique furniture.

Survivors include his wife, Ellamay; one brother, Jim Hennis, Goltry; two sisters, Mrs. Dott Fisher, Houston, and Mrs. Mabel Vogtlander, Frederick, Maryland; three grandchildren and three great – grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 PM Monday in the Chapel of Fossett Funeral Home.

Dr. Irving L. Smith, minister of First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
