Graveside service for Betty Jean Helberg, 88, of Enid, Okla., will be 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Memorial Park Cemetery, and a Celebration of Life will be 4 p.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with the Revs. Kenneth Wade and Scott Whittenberg officiating. Arrangements are under the direction Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Betty was born June 22, 1925, in Douglas, Okla., to Guy and Charity Garrison Norman and passed away at her home on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013. She was raised and grew up in the Fairmont/Douglas community. She attended Garber Schools and moved to Enid, where she graduated from high school in 1943.

She married Kenneth R. Helberg Oct. 29, 1944, in Breckinridge and he passed away Aug. 19, 1995.

Betty worked for St Paul’s Lutheran Church from 1965 to 2008. Betty was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where she served in many areas.

Survivors include son, Mike (Judy) Helberg of Enid; daughter, Kathy (Larry) Curtis of Fairmont, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-greatgrandchildren; and two sisters, Norma Bengtson, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Dorothy Mogabgab, Thibodaux, La.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Pat Nix; three brothers, Tommy, Leroy and Johnnie; two sisters, Marie and Delia; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Horn of Plenty with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
