Fred J. Haworth Rites Saturday

Services for Fred J. Haworth, 65, who died in a Cushing hospital Thursday morning, will be at 10 AM Saturday in the Chapel of Davis Funeral, Cushing. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid, under the direction of Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.

A native of Nash, he taught school in several towns in Oklahoma. He resided in Ripley until his death. He was a Methodist and a Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Estella, of the home in Ripley and a sister, Mrs. W. L. (Myrtle) Messer, Enid.

Rites for Mrs. Fred (Estella A.) Haworth, 72, 425 W. Palm, will be at 2 PM Thursday in the chapel of the Brown Funeral Home.

The Rev. Jack E Lyons will officiate. Mrs. Haworth will be buried in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Haworth died early Tuesday in a local hospital after an illness of several months. She was born in Grant County near Numa and later moved to a farm near Hillsdale where she finished school. She attended Northwestern University at Alva and later taught for about 10 years.

She and Fred Haworth were married in Enid in 1928. They lived several years at Barnsdall then in Vinita and Ripley where she taught school. He died August 8, 1968, and she moved to Enid later that year.

Mrs. Haworth is survived by two brothers, Lloyd Currier of Enid and Boyd Currier of Nash; two sisters – in – law, Mrs. William L. Messer and Mrs. Lloyd Currier, both of Enid, a niece and a nephew.

She was a member of the St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
