ENID, Okla. - Funeral service for Velva Mae Hawk, 91, of Enid, will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerry Holt officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Velva was born to Everett and Julie Brittain on July 6, 1921, in Ames, Okla., and passed from this life on Monday, June 17, 2013.

Velva was united in marriage to Leon E. Hawk on June 14, 1941, in Enid, Okla. He preceded her in death in November 1980.

Velva enjoyed the last several years living at Meadows Point, playing cards and dominos with her friends. She had a great love of life, and loved her life.

Velva is survived by her children, Larry Hawk, Linda Grimm and Gene Hawk; six grandchildren, Craig Hawk, Kimber Collier, Deidre Hornback, Stacie Boyd, Terry Hawk and Kevin Hawk; sisters, Aileen Crawford and Dorothy Skalenda; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Elza Brittain, Raymond Brittain and Clarence Brittain.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary?s Regional Medical Center, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian of the funds.
