The funeral for Terry E. Harwood, 71-year-old Enid resident, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017, in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Diana Pruitt will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Terry was born August 17, 1945, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Wayne and Ella (Jarnagin) Harwood and died Friday, December, 30, 2016, in Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. He attended local schools and graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1964. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving during Viet Nam on two ships, the Currituck and the Vancouver. After his service, he returned to Enid, where he worked at Vance Air Force Base for a time before beginning his career with Failing. He worked at Failing for 41 years, retiring in 2011. On June 3, 1969, he married Carolyn Knox in Trinity Methodist Church. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He also belonged to the Viet Nam Veterans of America. He loved fishing and watching his Green Bay Packers. He was a kid at heart and loved to play. He especially enjoyed listening to his son Steven play the piano.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn, of the home; son Steven, of Enid; sister Linda Crowcroft and husband Bob of Enid; a niece, Melissa Chapman; a nephew, Scott Meadows; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his nephew, John Meadows; brother-in-law Bob Meadows; and mother-in-law Lora Knox.

Memorials may be made to the Viet Nam Veterans of America through Henninger-Hinson.
