A celebration of the life of Monty Ray Hartman is 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Arrow. Burial follows at 2 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid. Friends may visit the funeral home 9 a.m.-9:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, with family there to receive visitors 6-8 p.m.

Monty passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, at the age of 49. Monty was born in Burlington Dec. 4, 1966, to Dennis and Irene Renny (Sluder) Hartman. Monty graduated from Chisholm High School, Enid, and continued his education at OSU Tech, Okmulgee. He put his technical skills to use for 20 years as an automotive technician for Buck Myers Motors. The last two years he has been head of renovations for JJG Properties, LLC.

On May 12, 1993, Monty married Jill Douglas in a Tulsa wedding ceremony. Their union was blessed with two children. Monty was a wonderful husband and father. Monty loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them and hanging out in his shop. Monty was the type that could not sit still, he was always on the move. He could fix or build anything. Monty enjoyed using his skills to help family and friends. Monty looked forward to helping on the tunnel crew for the Broken Arrow football team.

Monty is survived by his wife, Jill Hartman, Broken Arrow; children, Garrett Ray Hartman and Tyler Ray Hartman; parents, Dennis and Renny Hartman, Enid; sister, Keitha Depanion and husband, Jay, Calera; niece, Samantha Nelson; daughter, Madilyn and husband, Dalton, Durant; many other nieces, nephews and several cousins.

Monty was preceded in death by Rufus and Merel Sluder; Raymond and Dolores Hartman; and best friend Carl Vrska.
