The funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Marjorie Hartling, 95, of Enid, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2017, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Wade Burleson officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Marjorie was born Feb. 28, 1922, to Victor and Edna Phelps Livingston in Ellsworth, Kan., and passed from this life on March 31, 2017, in Enid, Okla. As a child, she moved with her family to Enid, and was raised and educated in the Enid Public Schools system, graduating from Enid High School in 1939. She attended nursing training at St. Mary's Hospital and was the RN in charge of the natal unit. While attending nursing training, she soon met the love of her life, Harold Hartling, at a USO dance and married on June 29, 1945. She then returned to raising her family and volunteering in the Nurses Association. She was very active in the Democratic Women's Association. She retired from the Senior Bowling League at the age of 89. She was very active, always enjoyed dancing and has been known to join in with the grandkids on several occasions.

She was preceded in death by both parents, husband Harold Hartling, son Mike Hartling, sisters Elaine and Bernice, and brother Dale.

She is survived by her sons Dick Hartling of Enid, Gary Hartling of Enid and Jack Hartling of Enid; 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Marjorie left a legacy unmatched by no other. She made everyone around feel the love and compassion she had for mankind. She touched everyone she was in contact with and will continue to touch lives for generations to come by her great example of Servant Leadership. We are all better humans for just knowing her. Compassion, Love and Grace. The Hartling Way.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the St Mary's Hospital Volunteers with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

Harold G. (Ray) Hartling, 58, 2322 E. Maple, died Saturday in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, where he was attending a 40th school reunion.

Services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday in the Chapel at Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan J. Frisby officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Hartling was born and raised in Ambridge. After graduating from high school, he joined the Army Air Force, serving during World War II. He married Marjorie Livingston on June 29, 1945, in Enid where they have since lived.

Hartling worked at George E. Failing Supply Company the past 30 years where he was still employed.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Enid Moose Lodge.

Survivors include his wife Marjorie of the home; four sons, Dick Hartling, Gary Hartling, Mike Hartling and Jack Hartling, all of Enid; one brother, William Harting, Dearborn, Michigan; one sister, Patsy (Norma) Frank, Ambridge, Pennsylvania; and nine grandchildren.
