Charles A. Hamblin, 61, 1030 N. Davis, died Tuesday following an illness of several weeks. Funeral Mass will be at 2 PM Friday in St. Francis Xavier church with the Reverend Marvin Leven, celebrant. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home until 1 PM Friday.

Hamblin was born November 28, 1916, at Hayward, and moved to Enid in 1945 following his military service during World War II where he served with the United States Army. He had been employed by Gold Spot Dairy for 25 years prior to his retirement in 1971, and recently worked at O. T. Autry Vocational-Technical School.

Hamblin married Marieta Webster February 24, 1947, at Wellington, Kansas. He was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Marieta; two daughters, Mrs. Roscoe (Diana) Bonniksen and Mrs. Richard (Denice) Moore, both of Enid; two sons, Douglas and Darrol, both of Enid; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Hazel Giliam, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Mabel Clark, Enid.
