WEST CLIFF, Colo. — The funeral for Luke “Art” Hager Sr., 78, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Pastor Max Colaw will officiate. Arrangements are by Ponderosa Valley Funeral Services, West Cliff, Colo., with local arrangments by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

He was born Feb. 11, 1932, in Enid, Okla., to Joe and Mabel Hager and died Friday, April 9, 2010, in Parker, Colo. Art was raised and educated in Enid. He served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1953, working on B-52s and serving during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1953. Art was raised and educated in Enid.

Art married Orlene Rex Feb. 6, 1954. Art worked as a carpenter and then for Enid Daily News & Eagle for 38 years, retiring in 1995 as the circulation manager. He attended Wesleyan Church and was a youth leader and served on the board.

Following retirement, Art’s passions were working on his cabin in Colorado, fly fishing and his family.

Surviving are his wife, Orlene, of the home; his children, Luke (Dianne) Hager of Salem, Ore., Jim (Shelly)Hager of Enid, Okla., Brenda (Roger) Shrader of Parker, Colo., and John (Amy) Hager of Enid, Okla.; his grandchildren, Michael (Jody) Hart, Eli (Jamie) Hager, Jill (Rees) Linn, A.J. Hager, Koty Hager-Lake, Jonathan Stone-Hager, Rikkie Weidner-Hager, T.J. Shrader, Lindsey Owen, Shelbye Shrader, Mark Ryker and Clarissa Siragusa; great-grandchildren, Megan Hart, Bryson Hart, Talyn Hager and Jasmine Siragusa; brothers, Jerry (Marsha) Hager, Dick (Beverly) Hager and Mike (Donna) Hager; sisters, Erma Marney and Nancy Richey, and sister-in-law, Joy Hager.

Art was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Hager and Mabel Hager; brothers, J.V. Hager and Jim Hager; sister, Norma Lou Robinson; brothers-in-law, Joe Robin-son, Kenny Marney and Ceil Richey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Art may be made to the Kyle Wood Foundation, FirstBank (any location), Colorado (Leukemia research).

A Memorial service for Orlene Lorraine Hager will be held 11:00 am, Friday, February 12, 2021 at Emmanuel Enid.

Orlene was born May 10, 1934 to John and Ethel Rex in Waukesha, Wisconsin. From that point forward, she blossomed in her schooling, and went on to graduate from Enid High School. Following the graduation, Orlene wed Luke Arthur Hager on February 6, 1954 in Enid-sharing many years together. She spent 32 amazing years at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid, and spent her last years as a surgery technician. Later in life, she loved all things crafty- and enjoyed painting and drawing among many other things.

Orlene is survived by her children-Luke (Diane) Hager of Nacogdoches, Texas, Brenda (Roger) Shrader of Parker, Colorado, Jim (Shelly) Hager of Enid, and John (Amy) Hager of Enid. She also leaves behind grandchildren- Clarissa, Mark, T.J., Shelbye, Michael, Eli, Jillian, A.J., Koty, Jonathan and Rikki (Quentin). In addition, great-grandchildren-Jasmine, Megan, Bryson, Talyn, Luke, Bryce, Sammy, Robbie, Vanessa, Brenton, Colton, Gio, and Oliver. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ethel Rex, brother, Orville Rex, and her husband, Luke Arthur Hager.
