Funeral services for Tyler Shane Hackett, 24, of Tulsa, will be 2 p.m. today, Sept. 18, 2008, at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Wade Burleson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Tyler Shane Hackett was born July 9, 1984, in Oklahoma City, and departed this life Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, in Tulsa, as a result of an accident.

Tyler was a graduate of Yukon High School. He was a member of the National Honor Society, the Yukon Jazz Band and the State Honor Band. Tyler was a very gifted saxophone and guitar player. After high school, Tyler worked at the Boulevard Steakhouse in Edmond. He then worked as a manager at the Mahogany Steak House in Oklahoma City. He spent a year working at the Adelsheim Vineyard in Oregon. He was presently employed as a manager at the Mahogany Steak House in Tulsa.

Tyler was baptized at the Yukon Community Church as a child. He most recently was attending Life Church in Edmond. Tyler loved many outdoor sports. He particularly loved fishing with his dad. He was an avid rock climber, water and snow skier. He was the life of family parties, as he would entertain them with karaoke. He was an expert at playing Rock Band. Above all else, Tyler will be remembered as a very loving son and brother. He always showed enormous affection and dedication to his entire family and many friends.

He is survived by his mother, Gwyn Hensley of Oklahoma City; his father, Steve Hackett of Enid; one sister, Rachael Gail; one brother, Branden Lee and wife DeAnn; maternal grandparents, Robert and Onita Pond of Colorado Springs, Colo.; paternal grandparents, Herman and Gail Hackett of Enid; aunt, Wanda Bryce of Bethany, Okla.; uncle, Guy and Penny Pond of Aurora, Colo.; aunt, Alison Naifeh of Oklahoma City; uncle and aunt, Randy and Lori Long of Enid; also, one niece, two nephews, and many cousins who loved and adored him.
