ENID-The funeral service for Marie Jewel Herrian, 93-year-old Waukomis resident, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2012, at Waukomis Methodist Church. Reverend Vernon Lee will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Marie Jewel Herrian left this earth January 21, 2012, to accompany the heavenly angels with her musical talents. Born September 13, 1918, she began playing piano and Hawaiian steel guitar for church and radio, giving music lessons at age 12, continuing for 70 years. Her late husband of 67 years, Johnny, characterized her well, saying, "She is a good woman."

One of her greatest pleasures was traveling with her friends and family, especially to Hawaii. She would beam while recounting memories of travel adventures, especially those created with grandchildren.

Family was the core of Marie Herrian's existence, seen through loving her daughters, Helen, wife of Don Kletcher, of Marlton, New Jersey, Darla Goodwin of Las Vegas, Nevada, and son, Jack Herrian with wife, Shirley, of Bison; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She prepared family feasts with ease and laughter at a table extending from door to door, for these were the hub of her heart. Mourning the loss of her sister is Marjorie, wife of Jim Butler, Waukomis, and countless friends.

All that were touched with the love of Marie Herrian would agree with her husband, "She was a good woman."
