The graveside service for Elda Faye (Jantz) Sheets Fuqua, 95 year-old Enid resident will be 11:00AM Saturday, March 12, 2016 in the Memorial Park Garden Chapel. Pastor Gail Edmison will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Elda was born June 6, 1920 near Meno, Oklahoma to Peter and Elizabeth (Becker) Jantz and died Wednesday, March 9, 2016 in the Commons. She attended country schools in Meno and then attended Enid High School, graduating with the class of 1937. She then attended Enid Business College.

On July 19th 1942 she married William “Bill” Sheets in the First Presbyterian Church in Enid. The couple lived in various cities in the early years of their marriage. They returned to Enid in the late forties. William died on Christmas Day, 1958. She married William “Bill” Fuqua on July 22, 1960. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1993.

She attended the First United Methodist Church. She was an independent photographer for Channel 9 News in the fifties and often wrote the stories along with her photos. She interviewed the Governor and many other state officials during her career. She was an avid bingo player and won often.

She is survived by her children; Gary Sheets and wife Annette, Mark Sheets and wife Debbie, Steve Sheets and wife Judy, Thomas Sheets and wife Cynda, and Craig Fuqua and wife Jeanne. Grandchildren; Gretchen Bashforth, Robert,Benjamin, and Jacob Sheets, Amanda Reed, Travis, Matthew, and Michael Sheets, and Casey Fuqua. 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, two sisters and two brothers.

Memorials may be made through Henninger-Hinson to the charity of the donor’s choosing.
