Funeral service for LeRoy Frost, 88, of Kremlin, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Central Christian Church Chapel with Rev. John McLemore and Rev. Don Johnson officiating. Interment service will be in the Mausoleum Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. LeRoy was born March 15, 1923, in Enid to Harrison LeRoy and Nellie (Beck) Frost and died Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at the farm home as was his wish.

LeRoy attended Pleasant Plain country school and Hillsdale High School. He joined the U.S. Navy in December 1940 and was assigned to the USS Nashville, and later the USS Rio Grande, seeing action in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. LeRoy was discharged in March 1946 from the Navy at the rank of Gunner 1st Class. On Dec. 7, 1946, he married Helen Louise Lafferty at Olive Chapel Church in the Hillsdale-Kremlin area.

LeRoy was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., retiring in 1985 with over 37 years of service. He also farmed in the Kremlin-Hillsdale area, raising wheat and maintaining a herd of registered Polled Herefords. He lived on the same farm most of his life except for his Navy tour. His farm operations included farms staked by his grandfather, G.A. Beck, and a great-uncle, Walter Jett, at the time of the opening of the Cherokee Strip. After retiring, he and Helen enjoyed traveling, going on many state side trips and several foreign tours. He also attended many reunions for the USS Nashville CL 43. He took up gardening as a hobby and joined the Enid Men's Garden Club. He was a member of Central Christian Church, Masonic Lodge 125 of Pond Creek, Guthrie Consistory, 50 years as a 32nd Degree Mason, Shrine-Akdar of Tulsa and Enid, Telephone Pioneers of America, Sons & Daughters of Cherokee Strip. LeRoy was a life member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Helen of 64 years; one son, Harrison Lee and wife Deby of Sapulpa; two daughters, Debbie Wright and husband Bill, and Beverly Yost, all of Enid; grandchildren, Harrison Levi Frost of Baltimore, Md,, Carisa Frost of Chicago, Ill., Sara Knowles and husband Chad of Richardson, Texas, Rachel Baker and husband Wray of Tulsa, Alex Shibley and wife Dana of Jenks, Sarah Wofford and husband Franco Norwood of Oklahoma City, Russell Wofford of Enid, Jason Carson of Oklahoma City and Jennifer Mack and husband Richard of Kremlin; great-grandchildren, Megan Lynn Carson, Faith Le Ann and Macy Jo Mack, and Jensen and Collin Knowles; sister, Janice Buselt of Leavenworth, Kan.; brother-in-law, Robert Lafferty and wife Joannie of Hacienda Heights, Calif.; a niece and several nephews; and "Lady," his German Shepherd.

LeRoy was an easy going lovable husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. We will always remember him for his gentle loving ways.

Funeral for Helen Louise Frost, 86, of Kremlin, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, at Central Christian Church. The Rev. Don Johnson will officiate. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with family will be 5:30-7 Monday evening at the funeral home.

Helen was born Sept. 4, 1927, in Enid to N.L. "Bob" and Helen (Eickhoff) Lafferty, and passed away Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, in Enid.

Helen attended grade school and junior high school in Ponca City and graduated from Hoisington, Kan., High School with the class of 1945.

Helen and Harrison LeRoy Frost, Jr. were married Dec. 7, 1946 at Olive Chapel Church. They made their home on a family farm in the Kremlin-Hillsdale area.

She was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for several years. After the birth of her second child, she was a stay-at-home mother, involved in school activities and helping with the farming operations. Helen returned to work at Vance Air Force Base, working for Northrop in communications and later in the learning center in the student squadron. She retired in 1989.

Helen and LeRoy enjoyed traveling and going on many state-side trips and several foreign tours. She was a member of Central Christian Church, Ruth Chapter 447-Order of the Eastern Star, Keotte Club, Pioneer Telephone Women, and Sons and Daughters of Cherokee Strip.

Helen is survived by a son, H. Lee and wife Deby of Sapulpa; two daughters, Debbie and husband Bill Wright, and Beverly Yost and her partner Eric Bright, all of Enid; grandchildren, Sara and husband Chad Knowles, H. Levi Frost and his partner Eden Evans, Rachel and husband Wray Baker, Carisa and husband Nick Manderfield, Alex and wife Dana Shibley, Sarah Wofford, Russell Wofford, Jason Carson, Jennifer Mack; great-grandchildren, Megan Lynn Carson, Parker Lee Carson, Faith LeAnn Mack, Macy Jo Mack, Jensen Knowles, Collin Knowles, Alexandra Baker, Greyson Shibley, Evelot Frost and Cateleya Frost; and a brother, Robert and wife Joan Lafferty of Hacienda Heights, Calif.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Leroy.
