October 28, 1946 - June 25, 2012

Funeral services for Suzanne 'Suzy Lynn Fossett, 65, will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 28,2012 in the First United Methodist Church in Enid, OK under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home with graveside service following at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Suzy was born in Enid, OK on October 28, 1946, the daughter of Jack and Linda Woodard, who preceded her in death. She peacefully passed away on Monday morning, June 25, 2012.

Raised in Enid, OK, she graduated from Enid High School and the Denver Business College. Suzy worked as a food broker for several years in Denver, CO before moving back to Enid in 1974 where she married Paul Fossett II who survives her. They have three children; Ryan, with wife Kristi and sons Jack and Max of Enid, OK; Kevin, with wife Karin and daughter Sophie of Arlington, VA; and Ashlee, with husband Billy Lowry and daughters Allie and Morgan of Tulsa, OK. Her grandchildren always put a smile on Suzy's face.

While in Enid, Suzy was active in the Taft Elementary School PTA and spearheaded the playground remodeling and construction of the bird sanctuary. She was a member of Junior Welfare League and Ambucs. She owned and operated her own business, Holiday Yard Trimmings, for many years.

In 1991, the family moved to Albuquerque, NM where both she and Paul worked at the Insurance Exchange. For the next 18 years, Suzy was very active in the Albuquerque Garden Center and the New Mexico Symphony Guild where she served as Vice-President and was in charge of the annual Presentation of the Senoritas. Paul and Suzy moved to Tulsa, OK in September 2010 to be closer to their family. Very soon after moving, Suzy joined the Tulsa Garden Center and the Tulsa Herb Society. Gardening was a lifelong passion of Suzy and she always had some of the most beautiful gardens to be found anywhere. She will also be remembered as an award-winning published cook who always provided her friends and family with great food.

Not long after moving to Tulsa, Suzy was diagnosed with lung cancer and carried on a terrific fight against her cancer. Throughout her fight, she was most thankful for the support and encouragement she received from her children, doctors and nurses, friends, family, and neighbors.

Suzy and Paul are members of Asbury united Methodist Church in Tulsa, OK, which has given her strength and faith to leave this world in peace.

Memorial contributions may be made to LUNGevity Foundation to support research into the early detection and successful treatment of lung cancer, with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

Condolences may be made to the family on line at Brown-Cummings.com
