Funeral services for Kenneth Theodore Fitzsimmons, 73, will be Thursday, June 24th, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the V.F.W., Local #2270.

Ken was born June 17, 1931, in Sallisaw to B.J. and Mary (Long) Fitzsimmons and died Saturday, June 19, 2004, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Ken grew up in Sallisaw and joined the military at a young age and was an Army Sgt. in the Korean War. He married Lydia Kirkindyle and had three children.

He married Naomi Ramer Burghardt on June 11, 1963 in Wichita Falls, Texas, they lived in the Enid area until his death. During their forty-one (41) years of marriage they owned and operated several businesses in Enid. For several years they ran Fitzsimmons Heat & Air, Established Burger Express and operated the restaurant for 10 years, after selling Burger Express they opened Across The Street Cafe. After two years of business they closed the cafe and retired to Keystone Lake, where he stayed busy doing odd jobs.
Fifteen years ago, Ken became an Ordained Minister. He enjoyed telling people about his wonderful Lord and Savior, and now he has gone to his heavenly home.
He is survived by one daughter Letha Wallace and her husband Ron, their children Troy Wallace of Antiqua West Indies and Cory Wallace and his wife Ashley of Enid. Two sons Kenneth, Jr and his four children Nicholas, Cody, Misty, and Minnuett all of Portland, Oregon and Jerry Chambers his wife, Kay and two children Wyatt and Jesse of Ponca City, one sister, Patsy Rains of Enid, three brothers Jay Chambers of Enid, Bill Chambers of Ponca City, and Cal Chambers of Canyon City, CO.
