OBITUARY

ENID - Funeral for George E. Failing II, 74-year-old former Enid resident, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012, in Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Dan Barrick will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. George was born April 25, 1938, in Enid to Robert H. and Altah May (Swaney) Failing and died Wednesday, August 29, 2012, in Tulsa.

He attended local schools and graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1956. He attended Enid Business College and Oklahoma State University and obtained his bachelor's degree from Phillips University. On August 20, 1960, he married Coleda McMurphy in Davis Park Christian Church. The couple made their home in Enid, where he taught at Enid Business College. He then worked with Wright & Sawyer CPA/Law Firm. He later owned and operated American Corporate Finance Company in Enid for over a decade.

The couple moved to Tulsa in 1989, where he worked as a consultant in finance for various companies, including Oral Roberts University, where he wrote operating manuals for each department.He was a life-long Presbyterian, a volunteer for the Red Cross and a member of Enid High School Alumni Club. He enjoyed music and could play many instruments by ear.

He is survived by his wife Coleda, of the home; daughters, Cari Cooper and husband Mike and their son Chris, of Enid, and Mary Failing, of Tulsa; sister Barbara Jackson and husband Mickey, of Frisco, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jim and Jerry Failing.
