Service for Velma Louise Froese, 89, Enid is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Ladusau-Evans Chapel. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Ladusau-Evans. Visitation, Monday, May 30th from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

A Celebration of Life for Velma Louise Froese, age 89, of Enid will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 30th from 6:00 ~ 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Velma was born October 18, 1932 in Shattuck, OK to Mamie and Artie Cronk and passed away May 24, 2022 in Enid. She was raised in Laverne, OK where she attended school, graduating from High School in 1950. She then attended Enid Business College, graduating in 1951, and then went to work at Stanford-Stunkle Drug Store as a bookkeeper. She later went to work for Enid Public Schools, retiring in 1995.

Velma married Richard Froese, May 4, 1952 in Laverne, OK. She was a member of Sonrise Fellowship Church where she was on the service committee and worked in the nursery. She loved working with the children in the nursery and they called her “Grandma Velma.”

Velma and Richard were married 70 years. He was the love of her life and her best friend.

She is survived by her husband, Richard of the home; two sons, Mike and wife Peggy; son Douglas of Enid, daughter, Cathy and husband Gary Mueller of O'Fallon, IL; grandchildren: Kris Froese , and wife Jennifer, Jodi and husband Jeff Walker of Enid, Kristen and husband Eric Young, Joe Mueller and wife Megan; great grandchildren, Jarod, Garrett and Logan Froese, Colton Walker, Aiden and Ethan Young; Preston, Tucker, and Faith Mueller; several nieces and nephews; one brother, Charles and wife Carol Cronk of Laverne, OK; one sister, Carol and husband Ray Olson of Des Moines, IA.

Velma is preceded in death by her parents, Artie and Mamie Cronk; and granddaughter, Jennifer Mueller.

Memorials may be made to the Jennifer Mueller Memorial Foundation with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
