November 13, 1942 - November 4, 2022

The graveside services celebrating and honoring the life of Lavonda "Sue" French, 79, of Enid, will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday November 11, 2022, in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Sue was born November 13, 1942, to George N. and Leona Mae Bennett Stevens in Glendale, California and passed from this life November 4, 2022, in Enid, Oklahoma.

She moved to Enid and began attending Enid Public Schools in the second-grade graduating from Enid High School with the class of 1960. She married the love of her life Gary French September 25, 1965, in Enid.

The couple lived in Japan while Gary served in the United States Air Force. They returned to Enid in 1971. She was a bookkeeper and owner/operator at Steven's Refrigeration and Heating. While always working at the family business and other jobs throughout the years her main focus was always her family. She was a devoted mother and proud Grammy. She was a master, Beta Phi Laureate Omega member.

She is survived by her daughters, Wendy Sue Eckert, Natalie Shea Mason and husband Bryan, both of Enid; son, Nathan S. French and wife Andrea, of Enid; seven grandchildren, Cassandra, Emilie, Abigail, Brylie, Connor, Sierra, and Jonnie; and four great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Bailey, Emmitt, and Elijah.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gary French.
