Esther Lee FISCHER

Memorial Park Cemetery

A Celebration of Life for Esther Lee Fischer, age 49, of Enid, will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2022, at Willow View Methodist Church, with Pastor Mark McAdow officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Visitation will be 7:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 10th, at the funeral home.

Esther was born September 23, 1973, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to Gilmer and Bernice (Roggow) McCanless and passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022, at her home in Enid.

She graduated from Sapulpa High School with the class of 1991. She attended OSU, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. Esther met her future husband Kelly at Jumbo Foods, where they both worked at the time. A coworker played matchmaker and introduced them. Kelly left to work for Advance Food Co., and Esther started working at DHS, where she worked for 25 years.

She married Kelly Ray Fischer on October 2, 1999, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Breckenridge, Oklahoma. Their only son Kellyn was born September 20, 2004, and was the joy of their lives. Esther and Kelly were members of Willow View United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Truth Seekers Sunday School Class. She was very involved with the church and was on several committees, but the children's ministry held a special place in her heart. She was very active in Boy Scouts, serving as a Troop Leader with Kellyn's Troop 27, going on many campouts throughout the year. She received several awards for her dedication and leadership from the Scouts and the church.

Esther is preceded in death by her father, Gilmer McCanless; father-in-law, Kenneth Fischer; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Ruby McCanless and maternal grandparents, Reinhard and Ella Roggow; and brother-in-law, Fred Holliday. She is survived by her husband, Kelly Fischer, and their son, Kellyn, of the home in Enid; mother, Bernice McCanless of Enid; brother, Eugene McCanless of Enid; and sister, Regina Holliday and her children, Freddie and Isaac, of Pennsylvania; mother-in-law, Sherry Fischer, of Enid; sister-in-law, Kendra Wiegert and husband David, of Oklahoma City, and their children, Journey, Joplin and Draper; as well as numerous cousins, aunts and uncles and friends.

Memorial contributions in Esther's name may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or the Children's Ministry at Willow View Methodist Church, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

Condolences may be made, memories shared and services viewed online at www.ladusauevans.com.
