James B. Finnegan
February 6, 1933 - October 14, 2011

The funeral service for James B. Finnegan, 78 year-old Enid resident will be Monday, October 17, 2011 at 2:00PM in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. The Rev. Dr. Stephen Samples will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Jim was born February 6, 1933, at Woodward, Oklahoma and passed away Friday, October 14, 2011. He was reared in Enid, attending Enid schools and graduating from Enid High in 1951. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1955. From 1959 to 1969 he was engaged in the automobile business with Finnegan-Collins dealership. After 1969 he was engaged in the investment business throughout the southwest portion of the United States with Sonic.

He married Brenda Gungoll May 28, 1963. They had four children: Phil, Mike, Dana, and Doug. In 2000 he married Claudia Miller and welcomed three more sons: Ryan Staerkel, Chad Staerkel, and Hayden Staerkel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Riley Atkinson, his wife Brenda, his brother Pat, and his daughter Dana Finnegan.

He is survived by his wife Claudia, sons: Phil of Tulsa, Mike and wife Krista, of Coppell, Texas, Doug and wife Amy, of Enid, Hayden Staerkel, Ryan Staerkel and wife Cicily, all of Enid. Also Chad Staerkel and wife Ramee of Douglas, and mother-in-law Norma Miller of Enid, sister-in-law Cheryl Dennis and husband Don. Grandchildren: Kevin, Mitchell, Heather, Ryan, Zachary, Luke, and Madelynn Finnegan and Dylan, Will, and Lala Staerkel.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Enid SPCA.
