A graveside service for Mary Sophia Bowden Darnell, 100, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Harold Honnold will officiate. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

She was born Sept. 13, 1902, in Hillsboro, Texas, to Isaac Hillingsworth and Maudie Beatrice Johnson Bowden and died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at her daughter's home in Elizabeth City, N.C.

She married Mark Lively Darnell. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, formerly Trinity United Methodist Church of Enid, and active in the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter No. 36, Enid

Surviving are one daughter, Beatrice Elizabeth "Betty" Ferrell of Elizabeth City; one son, Eugene of Enid; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons.
