Funeral services for Marie Louise Charlotte Moehle Downing, age 88, of Enid will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Gary L. Hendrick-son officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

She was born to Gottlieb and Anna Rullkoeter Moehle July 24, 1917, on a farm west of Enid and passed away October 7, 2005 at the Enid Senior Care Nursing Home.

She married William Levi Downing on September 16, 1951 and he passed away January 2, 1974.

She attended school at Vernon Elementary School, Emerson Junior High and Enid High School.

During the 10th grade transferred to University of Missouri High School and on to college at the University of Missouri.

She majored in home economics. She worked as a bookkeeper for A--A Grocery.

She volunteered 42 years at Bass Hospital in Enid and was the Auxiliary Treasurer. She loved to decorate cakes.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was Sunday school teacher and taught vacation Bible school.

She worked on the Election Board for many years.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Her three sisters and two brothers preceded in death.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Faith Hospice with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
