Enid, OK — The funeral service for Mildred Lucille (Francis) Dixon, 88, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Miller and Rev. Curtis Dixon officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Mildred was born to Alfred and Eva Lee (Dupus) Francis on June 7, 1921, in Helena, and died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009, in Enid.

She moved to Aline with her mother and brother, Harold, to live with her grandfather after her father died in 1924. She attended Round Grove School through the eighth grade and graduated from Carmen High School in 1939. After high school, she worked in Oklahoma City where she met her first husband, Thomas Upton. She was widowed in 1944 and moved with her two children, Mildred and Sam, to Enid. She became a member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school.

She married Wayne Robinson in 1946. They had two daughters, Loretta and Rebekah. She was a homemaker and Girl Scout leader. In 1958 she went to work for Enid High School cafeteria and later for Bass Hospital until her retirement in 1983. She was widowed a second time in 1974 and married Dwight Dixon in 1976. They were charter members of Cornerstone Baptist Church. They had lived at Golden Oaks since 2004.

She is survived by her husband, Dwight; her daughter, Millie Upton Hager and husband Darrel of Enid and their five children, John Hager, Sherri Hager, Jeff Hager, Mark Hager and Stacey Hager Irwin, and 11 grandchildren; son, Sam Upton and wife Valerie of Houston and their three children, Alicia Groff, Cheryl Lorraine Fogarty and Victoria Dawn Upton, and their four grandchildren; her daughter, Loretta Robinson Spleth and husband Jim of Enid and their three children, Emily Spleth Tossetti, Sarah Spleth and Susan Spleth, and one grandson; her daughter Rebekah “Becky” Robinson Thomp-son and husband Jim of Marietta, Ga., and their two children, Jessica Thompson and Amanda Thompson Howell. She is also survived by her brother and his wife, Cliff and Janet Seifert of Enid, and stepsons Larry and Everett Dixon.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, brother, two stepsisters and two husbands.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First Baptist Church world missions.
