Velma Jewel Osborne Dicken, 93-year-old Enid resident, was called to her eternal home Sunday, March 2, 2008, after a brief illness. There will be a celebration of life at 2 p.m. today, March 5, 2008, at Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Barry Wuthrich will officiate.

Velma was born Sept. 25, 1914, to D.C. and Bertha (Carter) Osborne in Enid. She attended Enid schools and during the war worked at Bullocks, May Co., in Los Angles, CA. She returned to Enid and worked at Sandford Drug and CR Anthony. In 1953, she married T.M. “Mack” Dicken in Las Vegas. They made their home in Enid. Velma was a volunteer at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

She is survived by her brother, David H. Osborne and wife of Enid; sister, Helen L. Wuthrich of Wharton, TX; nephews, Jimmy Mattingly of Wisconsin, David Mattingly and wife Pam of Goodlestville, TN, Mark Wuthrich and wife Sharon of Cypress, TX, Barry Wuthrich of Wharton, TX; her niece, Luana Savage and husband Charles of Wharton, TX; one great-niece and nephew; and two great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, and one brother.

Memorials may be made through Henninger-Allen Funeral Home to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
