OBITUARY

A celebration of life for Armin Dautenhahn, 83, was held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City (3600 NW Expressway). Burial services followed at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, Oklahoma (6405 Memorial Drive). Armin was born on September 16, 1917, to the Rev. Timothy and Mrs. Johanna (Gieschen) Dautenhahn in Fairland, Oklahoma and passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2001, at Epworth Retirement Villa in Oklahoma City. Armin spent his early youth on a family farm near Orlando, Oklahoma. He served as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the European sector having reached the rank of First Lieutenant.

He married Irene Lauppe of Enid, Oklahoma in 1947, who preceded him in death in 1979. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering at Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University) in 1949. He was employed with American Airlines as an Industrial Engineer in Aircraft Maintenance and Support in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for 30 years until he retired in 1980. Armin is a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City and has been a resident of Epworth Retirement Villa since early 1996. Armin will be fondly remembered by those who knew and loved him for his dedication to family, for his love of the outdoors, and for his indomitable spirit.

He is survived by two sisters: Vita Polwort of Enid, Oklahoma; and Adeline Morris of Dallas, TX; by one brother: Rollo Dautenhahn of Enid, Oklahoma; by five children: son and daughter-in-law, David and Justine Dautenhahn of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Kay (Dautenhahn) and Steven Wyatt of Bartlesville, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis (Dautenhahn) and Marvin Abbott of Oklahoma City; son, Paul Dautenhahn of Tulsa, OK; and son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Michelle Dauten hahn of Tulsa, OK; and by six grandchildren, Timothy and Kelli Abbott of Oklahoma City, OK, Lauren and Katherine Dautenhahn of Tulsa, OK, and Logan and Megan Dautenhahn of Tulsa, OK.
