NORMA J. DAUGHERITY

The funeral for Norma J. Dougherity, 59, of Enid will be 2 p.m. Sunday at First Missionary Baptist Church. Alfred Baldwin Jr., pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Russworm Funeral Home, Enid. She was born Jan. 4, 1949, in Enid to Wynola Lynn Davis and died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She graduated from Enid High School and grew up with her sister. She was a member of First Baptist Church, served in the choir, Sunday school and BTU. She later became a member of New Light Baptist Church, where she served as the mission president. She then returned to First Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of the mission department, provided memorial services for Home Coming programs, served as devotional chairperson for WMU, and intercessory prayer. She led the intecessory prayer groups among the churches and the community at large.

Surviving are her husband, James Dougherity, of Phoenix; her children, Wynola Davis, Patrick Davis and James Earl Wilson Jr., all of Enid; one sister, Patricia Prince of Los Angeles; 10 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her mother, Wynola Lynn Davis.
