Funeral for Sharon Lee Armour, 75, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at North Garland Church of Christ. Mr. Gordan Jantz will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with family will be 4:30-6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Sharon passed away Friday, May 29, 2015, peacefully at her home with her family.

She was born July 28, 1939, in Elk City, Okla., to Berta Bisco and Bill Jenkins. Sharon graduated from Elk City High School in 1957. After graduation, she attended Oklahoma University Scrub Tech School and worked in hospitals in Sayre, Shattuck and Elk City, Okla.

While working at Sayre Hospital, she met Talmadge “Lee” Armour, and they married 10 months later on Dec. 8, 1962.

After several moves, the couple finally settled in Enid, where Sharon worked at Bass Hospital in the surgery department for 22 years.

Sharon loved being a wife, a mother and a grandmother. She loved being in the garden, working at the food pantry, attending any activities her grandchildren were in, and her two dogs, Zeke and Zoey.

Sharon is survived by two sons, Danny of Oklahoma City and Michael and his wife Cheila of Enid, and four grandchildren, Joshua, and Tristan Armour and Ashley and Nicole Dirks, all of Enid.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Jenkins and Berta Bisco Trinkle; husband, Talmadge Armour; and stepfather, Merle Trinkle.

Funeral services for Talmadge Lee Armour, 76, will be 10:30 AM Monday, March 15, 2010, at North Garland Church of Christ with Ministers Tom Washburn and Wes Cogburn officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Anderson – Burris Funeral Home. Military honors will be conducted by Silver Talon Honor Guard.

Talmadge "Lee" Armour of Enid went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 11, 2010, following a long courageous battle with cancer. He was at home with his family when he passed away.

Lee was born August 20, 1933, in Lula Georgia, to Thomas Dewey and Annie Armour.

He attended grade school in Lula and graduated from Lula high school in 1952.

Lee enlisted in the United States Air Force in August 1952, serving 20 years. During his time in the Air Force, Lee served in many locations around the United States and overseas. His overseas assignments included Puerto Rico, Korea, Turkey, Spain, Thailand and South Africa. While he was stationed at Clinton – Sherman Air Force Base, he met Sharon Lee Jenkins and they were married in Elk City, Oklahoma, on December 8, 1962.

Upon retirement from the Air Force, Lee and family moved to Enid, Oklahoma, where he worked at Vance Air Force Base for Northrup – Grumman. Lee continued to support the Air Force by working the next 22 years at Vance.

Lee was active in youth sports in Enid, coaching for seven years. He coached football, basketball and baseball. Over the seven years Lee coached, he helped hundreds of boys grow up and become successful men. One of his former player said: "Lee was more than just your coach; whether he knew it or not, he was a dad to us all, especially to those of us without a dad." Lee would say watching those boys grow up and become successful was one of his greatest accomplishments.

Lee was a member of the North Garland Church of Christ, where he enjoyed working at the church and the food bank. Lee enjoyed spending time with wife and family, watching his grandchildren's activities and working in the garden.

Lee is survived by his wife, Sharon; two sons, Danny of Oklahoma City and Michael and wife Cheila of Enid; two grandchildren, Joshua and Tristan, and two step grandchildren, Ashley and Nicole Dirks, all of Enid; one sister, Elaine Qualls and husband James; three brothers, Bob Armour and wife Helen, Alex Armour and Eugene and wife Francis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to North Garland Church of Christ food pantry.
