The funeral for Joseph Michael Benjamin Arita, 22, of Enid, will be 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at Anderson-Burris Chapel. The Rev. Terry Glaze will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was born Aug. 21, 1986, at Hahn Air Base, Germany, to Michael Avery and Michelle Ann Garilli Arita and died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, in Enid.

He received his high school diploma and later studied construction technology at Autry Technology Center. He was the assistant manager of Quiznos and a delivery worker at Lowe’s. He excelled as a youth football player and was the captain of his team. He received E.J.R.T.’s highest awards. He was a member of Living Word Fellowship, where he served as youth minister.

Surviving are parents, Michael and Michelle of Enid; six brothers, Damien Arita, Darrin Stout and Duane Hocker, all of Ponca City, Jacob Arita of Enid, Luke Arita of Amarillo, Texas, and Tracy Jones of Japan; and six sisters, Marie Jones of Japan, Anne Stout, Hope Hocker and Dena Arita, all of Ponca City, and Nancy Arita and Jess Klein, both of Enid.

Memorials may be in his name to the funeral home.
