John D. Anderson, 72, 325 N. 10th, died unexpectedly Monday morning in a local hospital following an apparent heart attack.

Born March 15, 1900, in Crisfield, Kansas, he attended schools at Anthony, Kansas, and then moved with his parents to Enid in 1917.

He married the former Margaret Bergner in Medford. He was a tire vulcanizer and worked for Becker Tire before retiring in 1963. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret, of the home; one son, Richard T. Anderson, Enid; two daughters, Mrs. James (Rose Marie) Kelly, Fulton, Missouri, and Mrs. Walter (Zelma) Clod, Italy; 10 grandchildren, two brothers, Fred Anderson, Los Angeles, California, and Clare Anderson, Enid; and one sister, Mrs. Zelma DeFeo, Enid.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 AM Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Leslie G. Everitt officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.
