The funeral for Earl R. Anderson, 89, will be at 2 PM Sunday at First United Methodist Church. Dr. Robert B. Montgomery and Tom Sailors Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.

He was born September 2, 1903, on a farm southwest of Pond Creek and died Thursday, July 8, 1993, at his home in Enid. He had lived in Grant County until 1917 when the family moved to Enid. He graduated from Enid high school in 1922.

On September 4, 1927, he married Mildred Giltner at Oklahoma City. They lived in Enid where he was partners with Alvin Anderson in owning and operating the A & A grocery from May 1926 through December 1968. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Sooner Class. He was a charter member of Oakwood Country Club and at the time of his death, held the longest continuous membership of the Enid Rotary Club, 59 years. He served as its president in 1946 – 47.

Surviving are two nephews, Merle Phillips of Enid and David Giltner of Denver, Colorado; and one niece, Dr. Jeanette Hoehn of Enid.

He was preceded in death by his wife and one sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the church.
