January 13, 1962 - January 11, 2020

A Celebration of Life service for Cheri L. Chase Alvarez, age 57, of Enid will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Ladusau-Evans with Justin Alvarez officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Cheri was born January 13, 1962, in Quantico, Virginia, to Walter Chase and Helen Runion and passed away January 11, 2020, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City surrounded by family. She moved to Oklahoma in 1974 and graduated from Enid High School in 1980. Cheri married Thomas Alvarez on June 1, 1985, in Enid, when dad Hal Johnson gave her away; and was blessed with two children, Jessica Lee Alvarez and Justin Thomas Alvarez. She worked at Ken's Pizza, Tinker Federal Credit Union, Heartland Federal Credit Union and Dillards.

Cheri loved being Grandma Cheri, anything Elvis Presley, The Food Network, going to casinos, and her dog, Kolby. She cherished her time in New York with Kenny Schuttler.

She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Alvarez; son Justin Alvarez both of Norman; granddaughter, Ashlee Rayanne Alvarez of Baytown, TX; sisters, Christi (Greg) Kuykendall of Enid; Dawn (Mark) Parker of Paoli, OK; brothers, Chris (Sheryl) Johnson of Bentonville, AR; Bryan (Arisbeth) of Lowell, AR; dad, Hal Johnson of Enid; father, Walter (Mun) Chase of Melbourne, FL; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and extended family.

Cheri was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Johnson; partner, Kenny Schuttler; great-niece, Reese Ford; and great-nephew, Heston Ford.

The family would like to thank Fresenius Dialysis in Enid, Grace Living Center in El Reno and St. Anthony's Hospital for the special care they provided for Cheri.
