Mrs. Laura L. Allen Final Rites Thursday

Funeral services for Mrs. Laura L. Allen, 81, who died Sunday afternoon in a local hospital following a lengthy illness, will be at 2 PM Thursday in the Henninger Allen Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. T. A. Chick will officiate and burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger – Allen.

Mrs Allen was born in Mayday, Kansas, and moved to Quinlin with her parents when she was 13 years old.

She attended Quinlin schools and later taught in Belva for several years. She and Audra Allen were married at Canadian, Texas, March 14, 1910.

Following her husband's death in 1919, Mrs. Allen moved to Enid. She worked at the Enid high school cafeteria for many years.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. E. E. (Bessie) Lawver, Enid, and Mrs. R. J. (Leola) Phillips, El Reno; two sons, Marion D. Allen, Evergreen, Colorado, and Fred D. Allen, Everett, Washington; six grandchildren and 12 great – grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Cavanaugh and Mrs. James B. Lord, both of Enid.
