Memorial Park Cemetery



The funeral for Wallace C. Adams, 86, 410 W. Hickory, who died Tuesday in a local nursing home after a period of ill health, will be at 2 PM Friday in Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Milton Miles and the Rev. Harold Caywood will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Adams was born July 30, 1896, in Harrison County, Missouri. He came to Oklahoma in 1921, settling in the Pawnee community where he farmed. In 1942 he moved to Blackwell and worked for the Blackwell Zinc Company for 22 years. He then moved to Enid in 1962.

Adams was a veteran of World War I, serving with the United States Army. He was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Six Point Sunday School Class.

On March 19, 1931, he and Evelyn McCurry were married.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; one daughter, Virginia Seelen, Metarie, Louisiana; two brothers, James R. Adams, Ponca City, and Leonard Adams, Pawnee; one sister, Lela May, Blackwell; three grandson; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made in his name to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Heart Division, with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
