Allys Mae Acker, 83, of Enid, died Friday, November 25, 2005, in the United Methodist Home following an extended illness.

She was born February 16, 1922, in Stuttgard, Arkansas, to Clyde and Mary Cromwell and has lived in Enid most of her life. She attended the Enid school system and graduated from Enid High School.

Allys married Russell Acker June 1, 1941. He preceded her in death July 28, 1989. She worked with her husband in the Russell Acker Photography Studio.

She was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church and was in the Bible Study Group at the church. She was an active member in the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, was with the Animal Rescue Organization, and was an avid cook.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan Miller, Evanston, Wyoming; two granddaughters, Kyndra Rotunda, Arlington, Virginia and Jerry Fox, Salt Lake City, Utah; a great – granddaughter, Brook Fox, Salt Lake City, Utah; a brother, Vernon Cromwell and his wife, Virginia, Wichita, Kansas; a sister – in – law, Gina Shield, New York; and special friend Sharon Wedel Oxford, Enid.

Graveside services will be 2 PM Monday, November 28, 2005, in the Garden Chapel of Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home. The casket will be open at the funeral home until 11:45 AM Monday. Condolences may be sent to the family at ladusau-evans.net.
