Graveside funeral services for Louise Abernathy, 82, of Enid will be 10 AM Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery in the Commandment Garden with Rev. Marvin Goodpasture officiating. Family and friends will gather in the Ladusau - Evans Chapel at 9:30 Wednesday morning for a time of visitation before going on to the Cemetery in procession.

Louise was born September 25, 1919 in Conway, Arkansas. She died Sunday, July 28, 2002 at the Integris Bass Pavilion. She graduated from Conway High School and Arkansas State Teacher College in 1942. She married Dale Austin Abernathy in 1948 in Little Rock, Arkansas. The couple moved to Enid in 1955. Louise was a fifth grade school teacher at Coolidge Elementary for 28 years and a bookkeeper for Abernathy Oil. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Retired Teachers Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters and a brother.

She is survived by a daughter Laura Soper of Ada; a son Ron Abernathy and wife Sandy of Enid; two grandsons, Carter Abernathy and wife Ali and Colin Abernathy both of Enid; two sisters, Gladys Dow of Conway, Arkansas and Myrtle Lee Selig of Conway, Arkansas.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love with the funeral home serving as custodian.
