Memorial Park Cemetery



ENID - The funeral service for Paul "Phil" Adams, 76, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at Central Christian Church with Revs. John McLemore and Don Johnson officiating. The family will greet friends in the church parlor before the service. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

He was born to Paul and Clarice (Rozelle) Adams on Aug. 25, 1934, in Chadwick, Mo., and died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, in Enid.

Paul attended schools in Memphis and then attended Memphis State University.

He married Mildred Poole April 9, 1960, in Memphis, Tenn. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1984, serving in Vietnam.

On June 10, 1978, he married Jane Keel in Universal City, Texas. Paul retired from the Air Force in December 1984 as a lieutenant colonel. After moving to Enid, he was self-employed in advertising specialty sales. He was a member of AMBUCS, Air Force Association, Central Christian Church, where he was an elder and in Sooner Sunday School Class, and was active with Boy Scouts of America.

He is survived by wife Jane; sons, John Adams of Arcadia, Paul Phillip Adams Jr. and James Adams, both of Enid; daughter, Lori Myers of Oklahoma City; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Debra Frazier of Germantown, Tenn.; three brothers, Dan Adams of Memphis, Tenn., James Adams of Cos Cobb, Con., and Wayne Adams of New Canaan, Con.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred; parents, Paul and Clarice Adams; and brother, Robert Adams.

Memorial may be made through the funeral home to Boy Scout Camp Old Kia Kima in Hardy, Ark.
